MayBelle was the daughter of Dr. Louis Christopher Long (1854-1914) & Mary Ellen Keedy (1865-1944). She was one of 3 siblings, Louis Charles Long (1891-1941) & Elmo Thomas Long (1894-1953). Family members tell that Maybelle always said her name was "MayBelle" and she would get upset when people left out the "y".
MayBelle attended University of NE taking home making & graduated about 1910. She was a member of a sorority and Eastern Star. She married Homer Alysworth on 7 June 1911. They had two children, Homer, Jr., & Dorothy Charlotte. Homer & their son, Homer, Jr. are both buried @ Sheridan Cemetery. She married L.L.King in LA, CA about 1940. She was cremated & her ashes were returned to Auburn & were interred on her father's grave, Dr. Louis C. Long. There was a small stone with her name & dates next to her father's, but it has been stolen. Her mother & Dr. Long's wife, Mary Ellen Keedy Long, passed away in LA, CA & is buried with her son Louis Charles in CA.
