Myrtle Penelope Clifton DeLong,72, of Tazewell County Virginia passed away April 6 1969. She was born March 3 1897 in Buchanan County Virginia and was a daughter of the late John Robert Lafayette Bob Clifton and Joanah Penelope Webb Viers Clifton.
She loved to sing and taught herself to play the piano. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Richlands Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant daughters--Lola Ann DeLong and Edith Allegra DeLong.

Two brothers--Robert Walter Clifton and Luther Ellis Clifton.
She is survived by her husband--John Wallace DeLong
Two daughters--Lula Walsie DeLong Wheeler and husband Robert Wheeler and Myrtle Lorine DeLong Gilley Monk and husband Lewis Douglas Monk
Six sons--Archibald Pershing DeLong and wife Lilly--Loah Maurice DeLong and wife Agnes--Warren Coolidge DeLong--Harold Wallace DeLong and wife Barbara--Cecil Robert DeLong and wife Shirley Mae and Wendell Holmes DeLong and wife Evelyn.
Two sisters--Annie Lee Clifton Keen and Stella May Clifton Ward.
Burial will be in the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands Virginia.
