Mrs. Alice Naegele Of Murphysboro Dies

Mrs. Alice Naegele, 96, of 403 Murphy St., Murphysboro, died today in the Jackson county Nursing Home, after a long illness.

She was born on June 2, 1875, at Bald Knob, the daughter of James Jefferson and Nancy Kathryn [Catherine] Farmer [Hancock].

She was married to Adolph C. Naegele on January 22, 1911, in Murphysboro. He preceded her is death on March 29, 1965.
Mrs. Naegele was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Murphysboro.

Survivors include [family members from Adolph’s previous family] grandson, Charles Naegele of Murphysboro; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A son [Adolph’s previous marriage] preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Crawshaw Mortuary Chapel in Murphysboro.

The Rev. Lee Pope Ward will officiate, with burial in Tower Grove Cemetery at Murphysboro. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
