Mr Blackmer was born May 3, 1858 in Newark township. He was married to Elizabeth Fiese of Newark township on Dec. 5, 1883. Until he retired 14 years ago, he farmed two miles west of Beloit on the St. Lawrence avenue road.
Survivors are his widow, six daughters, Mrs. Roy Campbell, Alberta, Canada; Mrs. Herman Smith, Hancock, Wis.; Mrs. Arthur Rohweder, Janesville; Mrs. Thomas Bigford, Lake Forest, Ill.; Mrs Vern Allen and Mrs. Clarence Paschke of Beloit; a son Elmer Blackmer, Beloit; a step-brother Stephen Huntley, Caledonia, Ill.; a step sister, Mrs. James Welch, Loves Park, Ill; 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Blackmer observed their golden wedding anniversary on Dec. 5, last year.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer chapel. The Rev. H.A. Studebaker will officiate and burial will be in Eastlawn cemetery.
