Dr. Hildreth Marie Cross of Flint, age 90, died Sunday, July 7,1991, at Durand Convalescent Center. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Wednesday, July 10, 1991 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1224 West Hill Road, Rev Harley L Siders officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Detroit. Those desiring may make contributions to the McFarlan Home, 700 E Kearsley Street in Flint. Visitation 7-9 PM Tuesday. Dr Cross was born in Byron, Michigan, the daughter of Rev Ezra and Sarah (Hare) Cross. She had been of the Flint area since 1976, coming from Washington State. She was a member of Court Street Methodist Church, a member of DAR, a graduate of Asbury College where she received her Bachelor's Degree: University of Michigan where she received her Master's Degree: and the University of Iowa where she received her PhD. Dr. Cross was a teacher and Professor of Physchology for 43 years and author of the book "Introduction to Psychology." Surviving are cousin Eleanor Wilson of Flint,, several nieces and nephews, many friends at the McFarlan Home, special friends, Rev Harley and wife Mae Siders. She was proceded in death by her two brothers.
She was a professor of Psychology and Dean of Women at Asbury College for 17 years, Taylor University 16 years and Azusa Pacific College three years retiring in 1966.
