FORMER LOCAL ATHLETE DIES

William Yeager Succumbs to Complication
After Long Illness

William Yeager, well known tea and coffee salesman and former Coal Township High School athlete, died last night at the home of his
father-in-law, William Morris, 1103 North Vine Street from a
complication following an illness of more than a year.

Deceased was a son of Rufus and Marie (Brayda) Yeager and was born in Shamokin, March 21, 1915. He attended Coal Township High School
and was graduated in 1933. During his enrollment at the school he
was a member of the football team for three years. He was also a member of the All Scholastic football squad.

Yeager was married to Miss Marion Morris, April 7, 1937, and his widow and one daughter, Janet, survive. Other survivors are his parents and one sister, Mrs. Lamar Knoble, and two brothers, Charles
and Elmer.

The township man was employed as a sales representative for a nationally known tea and coffee firm for the past three years but was unable to take charge of his duties during the past year because of his illness. He was an active member of the First United Brethren Church and Sunday School.

Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 in the home of William Morris, 1103 North Vine Street. Further services will be held in the First United Brethren Church at 2:00 with Rev. O. L. Mease in charge. Burial will be in Summit Baptist Cemetery at Irish
Valley.
