Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday until the hour of services at the funeral home.Mr. Rhodes was a retired maintenance worker for the Trojan Powder Plant in Wolf Lake and a retired school bus driver for Shawnee High School.He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ava.He was born Jan. 26, 1902, in Beach Grove to Willis J. and Amanda (Walker) Rhodes.He married Louise Bardmess on May 26, 1925 in Chicago. She survives. Other survivors include one son [adopted ] Billy D. and Lillie Rhodes of Oklahoma City, Okla; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two sisters, Edith Foster of Anna and Helen Leird of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.Obituary published in the Southern Illinoisan, Sunday, March 31, 1991.+++
