Capt. Isaac D. Ward


Capt. Isaac D. Ward, aged 95 years, died Wednesday morning, June the 18th at 6:30 o'clock, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alice V. Pierce, 233 W. 19th Street, Norfolk, Va. Capt. Ward was a well known and highly esteemed citizen of Bohannon, Va. For the last few months he had been with his daughter in Norfolk.


He was a member of Providence M. E. Church.


Surviving him are three daughters, Mrs. W. J. green, Hicks Wharf, Va., Mrs. Willie Aldrich, Bohannon, Va., and Mrs. Alice V. Pierce, Norfolk, Va. Four sons, Capt. I. K. Ward, Bohannon, Va., C. C. Ward, Gloucester, Va., Harry T. Ward and H. C. Ward of Baltimore, Md. Twenty grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.


The remains will be brought to Mathews today and taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. J. Green. Funeral services will be held at Providence Church Sunday at 11 a.m. and will be conducted by Rev. Thomas E. Johnson. Interment will be made in Providence Cemetery.
