Her father (Frederick Wittenberger), in his will dated 23 Nov 1905 in Moniteau Co., Missouri, gives her name as Pauline Ehrmuthe Regelin. The informant on her death certificate (Moniteau Co., Missouri No. 571) was her daughter Edith, who gave her name as Paulina Reglin, and said that she was born in Germany on 24 Dec 1852.

Paulina immigrated with her family at the age of 4, on 19 May 1857 aboard the ship Anna Delius. They travelled from Bremen to New Orleans, with their final destination given as St. Louis. [Source: Ira A. & Filby, P. William, Germans To America, Vol. 11, April 1857-Nov 1857, pg. 39.]
