Mrs. Laura Lavinia Horrocks Solomon, 90, died of natural causes Saturday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Arthur L. (Marjorie) Liddle, 2046 Laird Dr.
She was born March 10, 1877, in Ogden, a daughter of Edward Gregory and Maria Mitchell Brown Horrocks. She attended school in Ogden and Provo, and was married to Richard Henry Solomon Jan. 21, 1903, in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He died May 19, 1952 in Salt Lake City. She had served as an LDS Sunday School, Primary, YWMIA, and Relief Society teacher. She was a member of the Lorraine Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and the "Auer" (Auerbach Employee) Club.
In addition to Mrs. Liddle, she is also survived by a son, Paul Howard Solomon, a district circulation manager in Salt Lake City for Newspaper Agency Corp.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m., at 260 E. South Temple, where friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
