Story as written in the Times Democrat, Davenport, Iowa

Owen Greer, 54 was found dead in his room at 502 1/2 West Second Street at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday by a friend and the operator of the lodging house who summoned police and the coroner. Death was due to natural causes. Coroner Frank C. Keppy said. He will not hold an inquest.
Greer, who was employed at the Red Jacket Mfg. Co., here, had been dead three or four days, the coroner said, and had not been seen in recent days by acquaintances.
Mr. Greer was born Nov. 4, 1890, in Rigor, mo. He has been a resident of Davenport for 10 months, coming here from Ottumwa.
The only survivor is one brother, Charles Greer, Davenport.
Private funeral services were held at 3 pm today at the Everson & Anderson funeral home with the Rev. C.F. Nelson of the Full Gospel Tabernacle officiating. Burial was in Fairmount cemetery.
