Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Silverton UB Church for Abel Van BOGGESS, 69, a farmer in that cummunity who died at the Starcher Hospital in Ripley on Saturday afternoon. The Rev. V. F. WILLIAMS had charge of the service and burial was in the Independence Cemetery.
Mr. BOGGESS was born in Jackson County on April 25, 1878, the son of the late William and Sybania (SCYOC) BOGGESS. He is survived by his widow, Oma (DAWKINS) BOGGESS and five children, Hoyt BOGGESS, Mrs. Herbert SHRIVER, Mrs. Clyde BATES, Mrs. Virgil HUPP of Ravenswood and Mrs. Chester HOUCHEN of Ripley and a sister, Mrs. J. J. JONES of Elizabeth, Wirt County.
