Miss Katherine S. Metcalf, 79, of 1511 S. Van Buren, died yesterday.

Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Chapel of Polk Street United Methodist Church. The Rev. James Carter and the Rev. W.B. O'Kelley, will officiate. Burial will be in the Panhandle Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel.

Miss Metcalf was born in Loudinville, Ohio, and had been a resident of Amarillo since 1914. She had been a secretary at Horace Mann Junior High for 27 years, retiring in 1963. She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church, XYZ Club, Senior Citizens, Retired Teachers Association, charter member of Business & Professional Women and a life member of Women's Society of Christian Service.

Survivors include six brothers, Paul of Vega, W.C. of Amarillo, Ray of Canyon, and Carl, Ralph and Frank, all of Panhandle; two sisters, Mrs. Harry Vance Sr. and Miss Martha Metcalf, both of Panhandle; and several nieces and nephews.
