SILER CITY, NC - Homer Lane Andrews, 91, of 2784 Hamp Stone Road, Siler City died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.
Mr. Andrews was born January 2, 1919, the son of Claud J. and Wanda M. Phillips Andrews.
Mr. Andrews was a native of Chatham County and was a retired superintendant of upholstery for 47 years with Boling Chair Company.
He was an Army veteran of WW II (rank of Private), and a member of Edward Hill Friends Meeting where he served as Sunday School Superintendant and other various committees for many years.
Homer was a graduate of Bonlee High School.
Mr. Andrews was preceded in death by brothers, Brown and Lewis C. Andrews, sisters, Florence Foushee and Hazel Andrews.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nina Thomas Andrews; daughter, Wanda A. Boling (Jackie) of Siler City, NC; and son, Roger T. Andrews (Cathy) of Chapel Hill, NC; one grandson, Miles Andrews Boling of Siler City, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC.
The funeral was Monday, May 10, 2010 at 11:00 am at Edward Hill Friends Meeting, 92 Ed Leonard Road, Bonlee, NC with Josh Conrad officiating. Burial was in the cemetery.
