James Gallinati, age 88 of Brooklyn, passed away at home on Oct. 4, 2006, under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Jackson and Oaklawn. James was born in Flint on June 10, 1918 the son of James Louis and Nora E. (Davis) Gallinati. He married Barbara Ann Hardy on May 26, 1946, at Clarklake Baptist Church and she survives. Mr. Gallinati served our country in the Navy and was a member of the Brooklyn Presbyterian Church for 47 years. He worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation until his retirement in 1978.
In addition to his loving wife of 60 years, James is also survived by his children, James (Cindy) Gallinati, Barbara (Rex) Bernstein and Robert (Trudi) Gallinati; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and long-time friend, Tom Shultz. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Louis.
A Celebration of Mr. Gallinati's life took place on Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, with Rev. Robert Malsack officiating at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Braun Chapel in Brooklyn. Burial was held at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Jackson and Oaklawn or the Brooklyn Presbyterian Church building fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
