Joseph Albert "Ab" Ewart, 65, of Alexandria, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at St. Peters, Mo.

He was born on Dec. 2, 1936, in Stockport, the son of William and Leona McKee Ewart. He married Sandra Elaine Winters on July 4, 1955, in Wayland, Mo. She survives.

Additional survivors include: a son, Randy Ewart and his wife, Martha; three daughters, Lori-Ann Ewart, Gina Ewart and Debra Gorham and her husband, Kent; four grandchildren, Hannah and Katie Ewart and Sean and Adam Gorham; four brothers, Norman Ewart and his wife, Elsie, Leon Ewart, David Ewart and his wife, Darla and Dan Ewart and his wife, Margie; a sister, Virginia Brammer; mother-in-law, Wilma Walls; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Pat Winters and Howard and Dorothy Winters; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Laverne.

As a baby, his family moved to Missouri where he was a lifelong Clark County resident.

Mr. Ewart served in the United States Army Reserve, was co-owner of Honey Creek Ranch and owner operator of Honey Creek Trucking, Inc.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mr. Ewart loved to work hard, and especially loved working on and driving big trucks and taking care of his cattle.

Mr. Ewart was a member of the Southern Baptist Fellowship at Wayland where he served as church deacon, church treasurer, also as chairman of the church building committee. He loved and served the Lord Jesus Christ in his church and in his own personal life.

Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, with the Revs. Randy Ewart and Gene Baker officiating.

Burial will be in Bluff Springs Cemetery.

Visitation is today at the funeral home, with family meeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home.
