Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 26, 1987 at United Church of Christ in Osage, Iowa, for Eugene D. Adams, 90, of Osage. Burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery. He died on Friday, may 22, 1987 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage.

Eugene was born on December 25, 1896 near Webster City, Iowa, to George W. and Edna Albright Adams. He received his educatio in Hamilton County, Iowa.

On April 3, 1918, he married Laura Elizabeth Sonberg. They farmed most of their married life in Mitchell county, except for 13 years in Meeker county, Minnesota. He served on the board of directors of the Little Cedar Elevator for several years.

They were honored at the celebration of World Marriage Day in Charles City, Iowa, on February 7, 1987 as the couple married the longest in this area -- 68 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter; two brothers; one sister; and one grandson and one great-grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Laura; three daughters: Mrs. James (Arlene) Welch of Kerkhoven, Minnesota, Mrs. Joe (Lorraine) Sprio of Waterloo, and Mrs. Harold (Evelyn) Miller of Monroe, Wisconsin, one brother, Cecil of Webster City; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
