Abraham B. Snavely, a retired farmer and prominent resident of Pequea township, died early Wednesday morning at his home in New Danville. Death was due to heart failure superinduced by dropsy, from which he had been ailing for some time past. Deceased was a son of the late Abraham Snavely, who was a well known miller of Pequea township, and was born in this county. He was in his seventy-seventh year. Mr. Snavely engaged in farming when a young man and followed it successfully until about ten years ago, when he retired, and his sons have since operated the farm. He was a well known and highly respected resident and was a member of the Reformed Mennonite church. His wife and two sons, Rohrer and Stoner, survive. One sister, Mrs. Fannie Hershey, of this city, also survives. (The Lancaster Examiner - Nov 23, 1901)
