RAYMOND L BATES: 88; NewtonFalls, died Wednesday [7-28]. He was born 15 Apr 1916 in Jamestown PA, a son of Carl & Alveretta Norton Bates. MrBates formerly of Wayland, lived in Newton Falls since 1979. He retired as a highlift operator from Packard Electric in 1977 after 41yrs of service & was a US Army veteran of WW-II.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Richards Bates; a dau: RuthAnn Nicholson-Ravenna; 2 sons: RaymondC Bates-NewtonFalls & RusselE Bates-Warren; 3 sis: Shirley Duncan-Newton Falls, Betty Dunbar-Warren & Virigina Parana-Warren; 2 bro: Clarence Bates-Niles & Carl Bates-Warren & 7 grandchildren. He was pre-ceded in death by 4 sisters & 2 brothers.
The funeral service was held Saturday [7-31] at the Borowski Memorial Home-NewtonFalls. Burial followed in Hawley Cem.
