Mrs. Bair was born August 25, 1915 in Lewisberry, a daughter of the late J. Roy and Ada (Harmon) Rockey.
She attended school in Lewisberry but graduated from New Cumberland High School in 1933. She was a former employee of the PA State Tax Department and later retired from Lewisberry Telephone Company.
Grandma Bair's first love was her family and friends. She enjoyed getting together at the farm and woods for parties and picnics. She also enjoyed horseback riding and continued riding into her later years.
She was a member of Wellsville Riding Club, and the Red Land Senior Center. She served the community as a Girl Scout Leader and with the Lewisberry Lions Club Auxiliary.
She was also a member of Redland Valley Bretheran Church in Christ, and a former member of Lewisberry Methodist Church.
Mrs. Bair is survived by two sons, Daniel R. Jr. of Lewisberry, and Dennis E. Bair and wife, Sharon of Polk City, FL; two daughters, Carol A. (Spoonhour) Werning and husband, John W. of Lewisberry, and Ada C. Rhoads and husband, Dick C. of Dillsburg; 13 grandchildren, Irvin, Alan and Darrell Spoonhour, Dianne Brantner, Dennis and Rick Rhoads, Debra Lehmer, Daniel R. Bair, III, Susan Bohan, Annemarie McKensie, Kristen Chandler, Steven Bair, and Denise Taylor; 29 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Priscilla Bair and Opal Rockey; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Thyra Wise and three brothers, Armond, Robert, and Donald Rockey.
Burial will be in Emanuel Cemetery.
