RETIRED WESTINGHOUSE FITTER WAS SACRED HEART MEMBER
Joseph Lewis Novak, Jr., 875 Thomas Ave., Sharon, died at 8?45 pm Friday (2-25-00) in the hospital of Sharon Rgional Health System following an extended illness. He was 85.

Mr. Novak was born May 13, 1914, in Youngstown, to Joseph Novak Sr. and Mary Alice Perchinski Novak.

He moved to Sharon as a child and attended Sacred Heart and Sharon schools.

Mr. Novak was a fitter for the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. for 33 years, retiring in 1976; and previously worked for the former Trevor Thomas Tire Shop, Sharon.

He attended Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon.

Mr. Novak belonged to Westinghouse Clerks and Retirees Association; and was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 327, Sharon; and the former Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, Sharon.

He enjoyed gardening and hunting.

Surviving are: his wife, the former Frances Ethel Bates, at home, whom he married July 29, 1943; two daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Mary Ellen) Hicklin, Poland, Ohio; and Mrs. Thomas (Beverly L.) Love, Oriental, NC; two sons, Wilbur Gene, Geneva, Ohio; and Charles Milligan, Palm Springs, Calif.; two sisters, Beatrice Burbach, Simi Valley, Calif.; and Mrs. Carmen (Frances) Bartholomew, Masury; a brother, John, Tionesta; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Betty Baker; and a brother, Edward.
