Services for Arlton Lee Branscum, 74, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Bruce Crawford, Jimmy Branscum and Mike Raines will officiate. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Mr. Branscum died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at a local hospital. He was born December 23, 1935 at Konawa, Oklahoma to Cassie and Tezzie Williams Branscum. He lived in the Ada area all his life, attended school at Vamoosa and graduated from Vamoosa High School. He married Alice Marie Wallace on August 21, 1956. She preceded him in death on November 28, 2007 in Ada. Mr. Branscum was a maintenance worker at Valley View Regional Hospital from July 12, 1968 and retired June 30, 1991 after 23 years of service. He was a lifelong member of Silas Missionary Baptist Church in Konawa and had served in the U. S. Army National Guard for thirteen years. Survivors include three sons, David Branscum and wife Eve, Ada, Eldon Branscum, Ada, and Clifton Branscum, Ada; nine grandchildren, Felecia Mixon and husband Shane, Lexington, Crystal Dixon and husband Greg, Wynnewood, April Hunley and husband Jeff, Ada, Matthew Branscum and wife Cheri, Ada, Jamie Branscum, Ada, Shelia Miller and husband Shane, Ada, Donna Prine and husband David, Stratford, Willy Sumner and wife Nita, Palmdale, California, and Charlie Sumner, San Diego, California; and nineteen great grandchildren; and two brothers, J. E. Branscum, El Reno and Leon Branscum, Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Donnie Branscum, and a sister, Mildred Price. Bearers will be Matthew Branscum, Kelsey Young, Shane Mixon, Greg Dixon, Jeff Hunley and Gary Price.
