Daniel Martz Boone October 9, 1929 - May 9, 2010 Daniel Martz Boone, age 80, of Eastville, died Sunday, May 9, 2010, at the Lock Haven Hospital of a heart attack. He is survived by five children, Daniel J Boone (Francine A. Riley), of Chesapeake, Va., Patrick F. Boone (Tammy L. Smeltz), of Milton, Vt., Debra K. Boone Mauck (William V.), of Loganton, Tanya J Boone (Hitham Hiyajneh), of Lock Haven, and Bryan H. Boone (Zee A. Snyder), of Wysox. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Hazel Mae Kulp Boone, who passed away on April 28, 2002. He was also preceded in death by one son, James H. Boone, on May 28, 1984 and his only sister, Laura Mae Boone Heggenstaller on August 28, 2009. Mr. Boone was born on Oct. 9, 1929, to John C. and Supera Martz Boone and lived his entire life in the Sugar Valley area. He graduated from Sugar Valley High School in 1946. He and Hazel were married on Jan. 18, 1952. He was a carpenter and millwright by trade, working at power plants in Berwick, Washingtonville, TMI and Salem, N.J. He also spent four years working and surveying on the Alaskan pipeline and worked five years as a district forest ranger. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially his annual salmon fishing trips in Council, Alaska. Mr, Boone was a member of the Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren, the Sugar Valley Lions Club, the Lock Haven M.O.O.S.E. (Lifetime member), the Lock Haven Masonic Temple and the Harrisburg Carpenter's union (50 year member). A viewing will be held at the Wayne Urbine Funeral Home in Loganton on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, between 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren in Eastville. A memorial fund is established by and donations can be mailed to the Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren at 2405 East Winter Road, Loganton, PA 17747.
