Injuries sustained in an automobile accident at the intersection of Leffel Lane and the old Clifton Rd, May 28, in which her husband, Chester Keeton, 34 lost his life, caused the death of Mrs. Ellen Baity Keeton, 39, at the City Hospital. The death of the woman brought the automobile accident fatalities of Clark County and Springfield since Jan 1 to a total of 17. Mrs. Keeton suffered a fractured pelvis and a rupturred bladder in addition to other injuries, and had been in critical condition at the hospital since being admitted there immediatley following the accident. Her husband died within a few minutes after the crash. Keeton's machine collided at the intersection with a machine driven by Robert Stowe, 24, of Springfield. Stowe and three companions were injured, but none seriously. Her mother, Mrs. Ellen Baity; Four brothers, Charles H. and Edward F. Baity of Springfield; James J. Baity of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Andrew J. Baity of Chicago, survive.
