Married to Biansa (Curtis? Riley?) Father of Dorothy, Harriet, William, Addison and Mary.

Recording of his will on 8 Jul 1852.

Will:

I Jacob P. Barringer of the town of Portland, county of Chautauqua, and state of New York, being of sound and disposing mind and memory and understanding, do humbly make, publish and declare this my last will and testament in manor and form following:

First - I order and direct that my executor herein after named, pay all my past debts and financial charges as soon after my decease as conveniently may be, except a mortgage which is to be paid as herein after provided.

Second - I give and bequeath unto my widowed wife Biansa M. Barringer, her support and maintenance as long as she shall remain my widow to be provided for her as here-and-so-after mentioned.

Third - I give and bequeath unto my oldest son William R. Barringer a two year old colt which I now own and our good Bid and usual gelding and alas the sum of three hundred Dollars to be paid him in amount payments of one hundred dollars each, the first there of to be paid in the expiration of one year from my decease of life. I shall, previous to my decease, pay him by purchasing land for him or otherwise all or any part of the said three hundred dollars in which over the ____ or ____ is fixed by she to him or for him are to apply as payment of as much as the said Three hundred as the sum so find.

Fourth - I give and devise unto my eldest daughter Dorothy Jane Stoning the wife of George B. Stoning the south half of the five acres of land I recently purchased of James Quigley containing five acres and being part of lot number 32 in the 5th township and 13th range and also one half of an acre of land being part of said lot 32 and bordered on the west by the center of the (road ?) and bordered on the north by the land recently conveyed by me to John T. Murry and ___standing east as far as the said Murry's land.

Fifth - I give and devise unto my daughter Harriet Maria Murry, the wife of John T. Murry, the north half of the five acres of land recently purchased by me of James Quigley being from a sum of the said land deed being part of lot number thirty-two in the 5th township and the 13th range.

Sixth - I give, devise and bequeath unto my youngest son Addison A. Barringer rest and residue of my real and personal estate which I shall own or be possessed of at the time of my death after paying the sums on bargain herein before mentioned to be paid to my wife Biansa and to my son William R. Barringer that part of the aforesaid lot number thirty-two in the fifth township and thirteenth range now owned by me and not herein before disposed. I give and devise unto my said son Addison A. Barringer his heirs and assigns forever subject however to a Mortgage indenture of ___ hundred Dollars executed by me and my wife to the Bank of Westfield which is to be paid by him. So that the said mortgage shall not be made on ____________ on the land conveyed by me to John T. Murray on the land devised to my daughter and also subject to the support and maintenance of my wife Biansa as long as she remains my widow and the real and personal estate humbly given and bequeathed to my son Addison A. Barringer is not to have as formal the payments to be made by my son William R. Barringer but is to be liable therefore so that after paying all (such ?) sums & personal property herein bequeathed to my wife and oldest son and paying all expenses and just debts the said Addison shall have the remainder of my personal estate.

Seventh - I do hereby recommend and appointment my wife Biansa Barringer my executrix of this my last will and testament.

In witness, whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty second day of March in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred fifty two. "personal property inventoried before signed." Jacob P Barringer
