On August 12, 1882, George married Jemima Josephine Bowen (his fist wife's younger sister). Together they had Athel Stanley, Arnim Douglas and Austin E.
Austin died as an infant in 1890. Jemima died in August of 1898 at the age of 33.
On December 25, 1898, married for a third and last time to Ludie Buzan.
