Obituary
Margaret Brady Brown was born in Westmoreland County, PA, December 11, 1814. Died at the home of her son, Daniel, five miles southeast of Utica, February 21, 1898, aged 83 years. Although the oldest of nine children, she survived the longest.
At the age of fifteen years she began a religous life, serving God nearly seventy years. She united first with the Presbyterian church and later with the Methodist Episcopal, at her marriage she chose the church of her husband, Methodist Proestant of which she was a firm friend and supporter for over fifty years.
January, 1846, she was married to Alexander Brown, with whom she accepted the care of four sons and two daughters. To them were born three sons and one daughter, making a family of ten children. Mrs. Brown spent fifty-two years of her life in Pennsylvania and Ohio, five years in Iowa and nearly twenty-eight years in Seward County. For some years she has been waiting and almost anxious to go to her final home above and the Master's call on Monday was glad tidings to her.
The funeral service were held at the Prairie Grove church Tuesday and the remains laid to rest in the cemetery there. Rev. T. J. Strickler presiding.
