Rene A. Zacchini was born on March 28th, 1930 in Pairs, France. He came from a legacy of trapeze artists and human cannon balls. His family shot to fame as the "The Flying Zacchinis" starring with Ringling Brothers but he traded physical for verbal gymnastics when he decided to become a lawyer. After attending the University of Florida where he received his Law Degree he served two years in the US ARMY from 1954-56 where he completed basic training, and because of his family background in entertainment, he spent most of his time doing show Joan (Shipley) and they had one Son, Norman Zacchini. After leaving the Army honorably, he returned to Tampa to open up his own law practice.
Rene entered into politics to make a difference in our community, no matter what the financial cost was to his family so that, as he would put it, "Everyone got a fair shake". He was elected as State Representative for Hillsborough County in 1962 and served two terms until 1966. Then in 1968 he was called on by Tampa Major Dick Greco to serve as his Assistant City Attorney until 1972. Finally in 1972 he was elected as Circuit Judge and served until 1978. After retiring from law in 1992, he got his real estate license. He moved to Sarasota in 2001.
