Thelma Shannon Smith Alcock, 78, of 3208 Memorial Avenue, died January 22, 1991 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the widow of Arnold Adam Alcock.
Born in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late Samuel E. and Hazel Shannon Smith, Sr. She was a member of Mead Memorial United Methodist Church and a retired employee of First Colony Life Insurance.
She is survived by a brother, Samuel E. Smith, Jr. of Rustburg, and a sister Hazel S. Seibel of Lynchburg.
A private graveside service will be conducted today at 2 p.m. in Spring Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Louis A. Timmons.
The family has requested memorial be made to a charity of your choice. Diuguid Rivermont Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
