Morgan Allen, of North Victory, is the guest of his brother, E. D. Allen for a

short time this week.

published in Democratic Herald, Clyde, Wayne co., NY., Wednesday, May 31, 1905.

1880 US Census show Eugene Allen as son in law to Bamford family in Victory, Cayuga, NY.

believe E.D. Allen is Eugene Darwin Allen.

Clyde is near Galen and Wolcott, Wayne co., NY. - E.D. Allen family has relations to Becker family of Red Creek and Mott family of Victory.

Eugene spent time in Walworth, Wisconsin plus enlisted in service there.

Some confusion with name as been mentioned E.D.'s son name was Edward, found name Edmond L., Edmond Eugene, and then Eugene Darwin Allen (Jr?) who served in the Philippine Wars, station at Fort McPherson, Georgia where he married Miss Maud Pauline Allen on 24 Dec. 1903 only for her to die on 18 Jan 1904 in Atlanta.

1900 in Victory NY with wife Ann Elisa. Census indicated they have been married 27 years since 1873.

1905 in Victory NY he is a widower.

1910 in Brutus with John Albert Scott's family and listed as Uncle. This means he was the brother of Joan Allen or at least half-sibling.

William Scott, husband of Joan Allen apparently had removed from Weedsport location after Joan passed in 1892 to Martville as William Scott died there in 1899. William's son, William Augustus Scott later moves to Martville.

I suspect the said given named Anna Allen for the memorial is probably Ann Elisa Allen, wife of Morgan L. Allen.

The info that was provided of AGE 83 DIED FROM CONSUMPTION is nearly or as close as possible to be an exact match of Ann Elisa Allen age or to the year she was born 1821.

Morgan Allen due to age had become an invalid or unable to care for himself and spent remaining days of his life at the County House / Almshouse - Poor Houses. In 1912 was admitted and said to be age 84 meaning born in 1828. Also, even though he bailed out of the Civil War and was determined to be a deserter, he was not punished or reprimanded.

Another name was given pertaining to Eugene D. Allen when in Walsworth, Wisc, on the Civil War draft roster was that of Elisha Allen age 27 born abt. 1836 in Vermont.

It appears very doubtful if Joan and Morgan L. Allen are related to Elihu Marcellus Allen & Laura Foote as several Family Tree makers have claimed.

I do suspect there could be possible relations to the Galen and Wolcott, Wayne, NY area as soon after the Civil War that William Augustus Scott, John Albert Scott, and Orrin Edgar Scott all 3 brothers decided to temporarily reside near Wolcott. Meaning their mother, Joan Allen, that some of her Allen family may have lived in that area.
