James E. Ricketson, 74, passed away May 9, 2010 at Akron City Hospital.
Born in Alma, Ga., he had been an Akron area resident for most of his life, retiring from Goodyear after 30 years of service. James was a member of the Life Spring Christian Church, was an avid golfer and hunter, loved to ride motorcycles and was a big sports fan especially of the Browns, Indians, Cavs, and Ohio State. James was a proud Navy Veteran having served during the Korean War.
Preceded in death by parents, Cleo and Mose Ricketson; stepmother, Laura Belle Ricketson; daughter, Becky Ricketson and brother, Willie Ricketson; survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Louise; daughters, Rose ``Charmagne' (Roger) Knox and Kimberly (Michael) Velleca; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Leo (Geri) Ricketson, Amy (Henry) Yarborough, Clifford (Carol) Ricketson, Mose (Sandy) Ricketson, Greg (Denise) Ricketson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
