He attended rural school in the Cozad area. On June 27, 1953, he married Velma Philpot at Cozad, where the couple made their home. Russell was employed with Tenneco Automotive and retired after 27 years of committed work.
He enjoyed spending his time fishing, camping and bowling. He cherished his time spent traveling with his wife, Velma. Russell also had a special love for gardening and spending time with his friends.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cozad.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma in 2005 and his parents.
Survivors are: his special friends, Kermit (Glenny) Lee of Eustis, Dixie Lee, Gary (Vickie) Lee, Marlene (Doug) Callahan, Karen Oelkers and Ann Marhenke all of Cozad; sister, Joyce Jensen of Cozad; brothers, Lyle Jensen of California and Gale Jensen of Gothenburg and Gene Jensen of Woodside, DE. and a host of friends and relatives.
