Couple Killed in Auto-Train Accident
Maurice Arnold Farley Jr. 24, and his wife Patricia May Farley, 20, were buried Monday afternoon, with funeral services held at the Drake Funeral Home here, The Rev. Robert Horst, pastor of Congregational Community Church officiated, and interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
They had left their two children Debra Kay, 3 and son Keith Arnold, 10 months with the grandparents.
The crossing victims and children had been residing in the Dora Lee property on Rte 547 about five miles west of the village. He was employed by the Suhr Insulating Co. at Norwalk. The caskets containing the bodies were not opened at the funeral service.
Mr. and Mrs. Farley had been married for four years and prior to that time Mrs Farley had made her home in Vermilion, where her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Myers, reside on Risden Rd. She was born on Jan. 26, 1937. Mr. Farley was born in Lyme Twp. on Oct 11, 1932 but had resided in Monroeville most of his life. He was the son of Maurice and Dolly Farley, who live on Way St. here and a member of the Eagles Lodge at Norwalk.
Surviving are the two children, the parents of both. Other survivors of Mr. Farley include brothers, John, Monroeville and Lawrence, Norwalk, sisters, Luena Whiteside and Bertha Scott, both of Port Clinton and Verna Mead of RT 547, here. Mrs. Farley leaves also a brother Kenneth Myers, of Berlin Heights and two sisters, Mrs William Pine(Joan) of Vermilion and Evelyn, at home
Pall-bearers for Mrs Farley were all cousins, Robert Davis, Eugene McKenzie, Donald, John and Gilbert Reising and Kenneth Houghtlen. For Mr. Farley were Lodge brothers, Lester Wychoff, George Clemens, Maxwell Humphrey, Charles Hughes, Curly Haler and James Donaldson.
