Herbert Donald Nichols, 81, of Edgewater Fla., formerly of New Franklin and Norton, passed away May 8, 2010 at his Florida home.

Herb was retired from Seiberling Tire & Rubber Co., Barberton, Ohio after 35 years service. Born in the heart and hills of West Virginia on April 5, 1929, he moved to Edgewater 30 years ago from Norton, Ohio. Herb also worked in home construction, concrete setting and wood chopping. He enjoyed hunting, farming and athletics and was a baseball coach and umpire. Herb loved life, his family and step family and wanted only the best for them. Now at peace, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, of 29 years, Mildred 'Midge' Nichols; parents, Bernard and Elizabeth Nichols (nee Stout); and brother, Wayne Nichols.

He is survived by five sons; two stepsons; his daughter; three stepdaughters; brothers, Marshall and David (Diane) Nichols of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Betty (Mike) Adams and Barbara (Dick) Markham of Edgewater, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Audrey (Jim) Outland and Linda (Gene) Zunk of Akron, Ohio; 31 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
