Lulu Painters mother was Sarah Moore whose father was a full blooded Cherokee Indian. Sarah was born 18 March 1864 in Tennessee. Lulu's father died when she was about 3 years old and as yet we have not found his name. Lulu was reared by her stepfather William Devanham.
Lulu and Isaac married 26 November 1905 in Kansas City, Kansas. They had 12 children and lived in both Kansas and California. Lulu died in Kansas and was buried there. Isaac died in California on one of his many trips to visit his children and grandchildren and is buried in Westminister California.
