"He was a Doctor in Wilkes County, N.C., and also recorded as a Surgeon for the Cherokees during their removal. His parents Elijah Calloway and Mary Cutbirth (grand niece of Daniel Boone) are buried in the Calloway Family Cemetery in Ashe County, N.C., overlooking the New River.
