Robert Thad Dickerson
Funeral services for Robert Thad Dickerson, formerly of Goodman, were held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10 in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home in Durant. The Rev. Kenny Boyette was officiating minister.
Mr. Dickerson, who had been making his home in Jackson for the past several years, died Saturday, September 8 at Hinds General Hospital in Jackson. He was 88.
A native of Attala County, he was born October 15. 1895. He was a Baptist and a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Owen (Maxine) Byrd of Jackson, Mrs. Edward (Joyce) Aldridge of Santa Maria, California and Mrs. Elouise Brown of Ridgeland; a sister. Mrs. Houston Garner of Lula; two brothers, Fred Dickerson of Rosedale and C.L. Dickerson of Union Town, Pennsylvania: eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Interment was in Seneasha Cemetery near Goodman with Southern in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers were Jack Dickerson, Don Burrell, James Luther Burrell, Thomas Burrell, Jr., Eldridge Burrell and James H. Boyette.
