Norma Lee Pollard "G-MA" 1929 - 2010 Norma Lee Pollard passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 4, 2010 in Bakersfield, CA. Norma was born on September 16, 1929 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Howard and Lorna Stamp. She was the oldest of three children, herself, Lois, and Bud. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, sister, and friend to many. Norma married the love of her life Earl on August 2, 1947. They were happily married for 58 loving years. They lived their lives in Bakersfield where they had two children, daughter, Earlane Baker and son, Howard Pollard. She was full of joy and happiness and showed love and affection to all around her. Norma loved to collect music boxes and anything to do with butterflies, and boy did she love to go shopping! But most of all she loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. Norma is survived by her daughter, Earlane Baker; son, Howard Pollard and wife Karen; grandchildren, Howard Pollard II, Brandon "Bubba" Pollard, Kourtny Pollard; great grandchildren, Kailah Cobb, twins Indie and Addison Pollard; and sister, Lois Paris of Tucson, Arizona. She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lorna Stamp; brother, Bud Stamp; and loving husband of 58 years Earl Pollard. The family wishes to extend their love and special thanks to Cindy Smith for her wonderful care and great friendship in the caring of our Grandma Honey. "Don't grieve for me for now I am free, I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hands when I heard His call, I turned my back and left it all, I could not stay for another day, to laugh, to love, to work or to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I've found that peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. Perhaps my time has seemed all too brief, don't lengthen now with undo grief. lift up your hearts, and share with me, God wanted me now, He has set me free..." We love you Grandma" Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 19th, 1:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel, graveside to follow, 9101 Kern Canyon Road. www.bakersfield.com/obits
