Guy E. PHILLIPS, 75, Flippin From Mountain Echo Thursday, September 24, 1998 Guy E. PHILLIPS, age 76, of Flippin, died Sept. 14, 1998 at his home. Mr. PHILLIPS was born Sept. 17, 1921 in Yellville, the son of Thomas H. and Hannah (DUGGINS) PHILLIPS. On April 27, 1946 he was united in marriage with Doris COPLEN. He was a retired building contractor, a veteran of World War II, a member of the Flippin Baptist Church, the VFW in Cotter, a Masonic member since 1952 and he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a lifelong resident of Marion County. Survivors include his wife, Doris COPLEN PHILLIPS of Flippin; his son, Gary D. PHILLIPS of Flippin; his daughter, Guyla PHILLIPS MORELOCK of St. Louis, Mo; his brothers, Harold Gene PHILLIPS of Newport News, Va., and Leroy PHILLIPS of Flippin; his sisters, Zelma GREEN of Libby, Mont., and Mary GRAY of Flippin; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mr. PHILLIPS was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Alva, Bill JAMES, Marvin and E. G. Services were held at the Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve MARTIN officiating. Burial was at the Gassville Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of in Mountain Home. Burns Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
