Clarence M. Lippencott, well known in this county, died Thursday, July 16 at 12:15 p.m. at his home in Pittsburgh.

Dr. C. M. Lippincott was born June 17, 1873, at Morrisville, Pa. His parents were William and Margaret Lippincott. He united with the Morrisville Methodist Protestant Church in February, 1891, when he was seventeen years of age. He graduated from Waynesburg College with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in 1898 and from Yale Divinity School in 1901. He received the degree of Doctor of Divinity from Adrian College in 1911 He was admitted to the Pittsburgh Conference as a probationer and in 1904 was ordained.

Dr. Lippincott's work as a pastor extends over thirty-five years. His first pastorate was Fairmont, W. Va., to which he went in 1901. In 1902 he served the South Cannan Church in the New York Conference. His other pastorates were as follows: 1903 Uniontown, Calvary; 1904 to 1909 New Cumberland; 1909 to 1914 Beaver Falls; 1914 to 1919 Fourth Church, Pittsburgh; 1919 to 1922 First Church, Pittsburgh; 1922 to 1927 Overbrook; 1927 to 1928 Haynesville, Louisiana; 1929 to 1931 Second Church Pittsburgh; 1931 to 1932 Kittanning; 1932 to 1936 Eldersville.

Dr. Lippincott was President of the Pittsburgh Conference for two years in 1918 and 1919. He was Conference Secretary for three years, 1910 to 1912. He was a member of the Pittsburgh delegation to the General Conference in 1916, 1920 and 1932. For many years he was a member of the Board of Publication. He was the first dean of the Pittsburgh Conference Leadership Training School.

On June 18, 1903, he was married to Miss Florence Morris who died in 1917, and is survived by Mrs. Norman L. (Ruth Frances) Schuck, Herbert and Robert M. Lippencott.
