MACOUPIN COUNTY ENQUIRER ,CARLINVILLE ILLINOIS WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 11,1905 -OBITUARY -Jerry M. Sacre, Died, at Jacksonville at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 1905. an old resident of Macoupin Co. Mr Sacre has been in ill health for the past five years. About six months ago, worry over his failing health affected his mood and he had to be sent to the insane hospital at Jacksonville where he grew worse until dissolution occured.
Mr Sacre was born April 3 1845 near Fulton Missouri. He comes to this county when a young man and settled in Bird township near this city. He became a resident of Carlinville about a year ago. No one in this vicinity had more friends than Jerry Sacre. The decease leaves to mourn his loss two daughters, Sophia and Reba of this city. Also John Sacre of LaPlata, MO; James of Minneapolis,MN; William of St Louis, MO; Noah Sacre of Fulton, Missouri; Mrs Martha Roberts, Mrs Sytha Simcoe and Mrs Lee Muir of Fulton, Missouri.
Mr Sacre was a member of the Baptist Church. Short funeral services were held over the remains of Jerry Sacre at the late residence at 12:00 Tuesday after which the remains were conveyed to Charity Church where formal services were held. Amond the relatives present were William Sacre, Douglas Sacre, Noah Sacre, Mrs Muir, the Turners and Roberts of Callaway Co, Missouri.
