Obituary - Sherman Cooper, 77, St. George died Thursday Morning in a Salt Lake hospital of natural causes.

Born Oct. 29, 1847, Washington, Utah, a son of James Monroe and Rasmenia Iverson Cooper. Married Grace Bushnell, June 1, 1922, Manti Temple. She died in 1963. School principal in Utah and Nevada for 33 years. Graduate of Branch Normal School, Cedar City and Brigham Young University. Served mission to Southern States. Active in athletics in school. Held Utah high school record in the running broad jump for 50 years.

Survivors: sons, daughters, Grant S., West Covina, Calif.; Jay E., Covina, Calif.; Mrs. Joseph V. (Zola) Barker, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Darwin (Kathryn) Hunt, Fillmore; brother, Robert L., Covington, St. George; 11 grandchildren.

Funeral Saturday noon, Washington Ward Chapel, Washington. Burial, Washington Cemetery.
