Edna Ailene was the daughter of Ed and Blanche Cahill. She married Otis Mills and they had two children. In 1950, Otis took a job with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The family moved from Nebraska to White River, Arizona. Edna and Otis raised their children on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation where Otis was the Roads Foreman, in charge of maintaining and building the reservation's roads.
