Beth spent a great portion of her life researching the Middleton family, and the results of her efforts culminated in the wonderful book THE MIDDLETON FAMILY (INCLUDING MYDDELTON AND MYDDLETON): Records from Wales, England, Barbados, and the Southern United States. 1972

In her own words:

"My years of work on this family history leave me convinced that the Middleton name is not only an ancient but honorable name. From the beginning this family has produced many notable doctors, lawyers, ministers, statesmen and scholars. I, like everyone with Middleton connections, thrill to the achievements of those who helped shape history such as the first Sir Hugh Middleton and his remarkable accomplishments in the seventeenth century, the Honorable Aurthur Middleton who signed the Declaration of Independence, and today's Admiral Roderick O. Middleton who commanded the USS Noah which retrieved the Friendship 7 capsule and Colonel John Glenn after the first orbital flight around the world. But my admiration extends, perhaps even more deeply, to those countless pioneer Middletons who struggled against overwhelming obstacles to clear a wilderness, create homes, build churches, raise crops, and rear children, and who in spite of all the odds, managed to instill in those children a pride in family, love of country, and reverence for God."

Thanks for all the hard work Beth. We'll try to take it from here!
