Eugene P. "Geno" Diaz

KANOPOLIS---Eugene P. "Geno" Diaz, 75, passed
away Thursday, May 13, 2010, in Ellsworth. He
was born Jan. 11, 1935, in Kanopolis, the son
of Ysidro and Jovita Mesa Diaz.
He was a truck driver for High Plains Sand, a
member of American Legion Post 329 and St.
Ignatius Catholic Church, all in Kanopolis. He
served in the Navy during the Korean and
Vietnam wars.
Survivors include his daughter, Lori (Diaz) May-
field, of Kanopolis, stepdaughters, Andra Bunch,
of Beverely, and Rhonda Hull, of Lindsborg;
stepsons, Gregory Brown, of Manhattan, and
Frank Magana, of Layton, Utah; a sister Georgia
Wilkinson, of Kanopolis; 11 grandchildren; and
a great-great- grandchild.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at
Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with a vigil
at 5 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday,
May 17, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Kanopolis,
followed by burial in Kanopolis Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the church
or Kanopolis American Legion, in care of the
funeral home, P.O. Box 45, Ellsworth 67439.
