James E. Jackson, 87, Florence, Ala., died Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, after an extended illness. Visitation was Saturday evening at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Glendale church of christ, with burial in Wesley chapel Cememtery. Mr. Jackson will be placed in the church one hour before service. Officiating at the funeral will be Joel Caudle and Lawrence Williams. Mr. Jackson was a native and lifelong resident of Lauderdale County. He is survived by his sons Gene, glendon and Lendon.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Jackson and a son, Gerald Jackson. Pallbearers will include Keith Jackson, doug Jackson, bily Jackson, Brett Jackson, Terry Jackson, Phillip Jackson, Mike Jackson and Jerry Patrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Mills, Ross Harrison, Cecil Watson, alton Mc Collum, Kenneth Griffin and John Riley. Mr. Jackson was employed as an electrician at TVA for more than 39 years and was a member of Local IBEW for 58 years. He was a longtime member of the Glendale Church of Christ, having served as an elder for 28 years. The family would like to thank all the staff at ECM Hospital, sixth floor, Mitchell-Hollingsworth and Merrill Gardens. A special thanks is expressed to Garden House at Merill Gardens.
