Mrs. Irene Atwood Freeman, wife of R. C. Freeman, one of the most prominent men of the county, died early yesterday morning at her home in Berryhill township, following a long illness. Her age was 54 years.
The funeral service was held at Steel Creek church yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, in charge of Rev. John M. Walker, pastor. Interment was in the church graveyard.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, D. R. and Frank Freeman; one daughter, Miss Irene Freeman; two half sisters, Mrs. Mary McLelland and Mrs. Levicia Freeman, and two half brothers, J. L. and F. B. Brown, all of the county.
Mrs. Freeman had been a member of Steel Creek Presbyterian church since childhood. Her husband was a former member of the general assembly from this county.
