John H. Karns Sr.:
John H. Karns Sr., 54, 1319 North 11th street, died Monday at a local hospital after a long illness. A native of St. Joseph, he had lived here all of his life. He was employed by the Quaker Oats Co. until five years ago when he retired. Mr. Karns was a member of the Francis Street Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Ethel M. Karns of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Faith A. Waller, Kansas City, two sons, John H. Karns Jr., St. Joseph, and Gary W. Karns, Prairie Village, Kan.; two brothers, George S. Karns Jr., Easton, Mo., and Kenneth Karns, no address given; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The body is at the Meierhoffer-Fleeman mortuary.
Karnes Services: Services for John H. Karns Sr. will be at 1:30 Thursday afternoon in the Meierhoffer-Fleeman chapel, the Rev. Bill O'Quinn officiating. Cremation will
follow the services.
