ERIC B. ABITIA, 15, of Lamar died Wednesday in a Colorado Springs hospital. He had been injured in an auto accident. Eric was a student.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Francis DeSales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Lamar, with Monsignor George Holland officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Lamar. Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel, Lamar, is in charge of arrangements. Local arrangements were made by Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St.
Eric was born Dec. 20, 1972, in Lamar and lived there all his life. He is survived by his parents, John and Margaret (Lopez) Abitia of Lamar. Eric was a sophomore at Lamar High School, where he was active in baseball, wrestling, football and track. He was a member of St. Francis DeSales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, Eric is survived by a brother, Burt of Lamar; and his grandparents, Ben and Lusilia Abitia of Lamar and Margarita Lopez of Argentina.
