ASHURST, Donald H. age 82, of Kettering, passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 at Kettering Hospital. Don was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. He is survived by his wife, Rose; children, Donna Ashurst, Gary Ashurst, Karen (Steve) Fields, Teresa (Rick) Young, Diane (Mick) Smith, Larry (Kathy) Ashurst, Mary (Tim) Nakel, Ronnie Ashurst, Dot (Tim) Weaver, Jackie Foster, Pam (Bud) Berry, Julie (Steve) Pietrantonio, Jenny (Mike) Underwood; 35 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Erma Ashurst and Harriet Gregory; sister-in-law, Phyllis Ashurst; numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010 at Ascension Catholic Church, 2025 Woodman Dr., with Rev. Chris Worland, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Don's family wishes to send a special thank you to his nurse, Yolanda Jenkins of The Hospice of Dayton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hospice of Dayton or the Ascension Food Bank. Arrangements in care of the Meyer-Boehmer & Reis Funeral Home.
